The Illusion Spa is unique to Splash Spas. It is a portable, high performance 2 person spa manufactured to the same high specification as all other RotoSpas. This hot tub represents incredibly good value because the shell is manufactured from a tough, durable and, importantly, inexpensive plastic.
The Illusion Spa will fit through a standard sized internal doorway, making almost any location accessible.
The Illusion Spa is made in the UK by RotoSpa Ltd of Birmingham, a British company with over 20 years design and manufacturing experience.
Construction & Technology
The Illusion Spa body is rotationally moulded in one piece resulting in a spa that combines extreme strength with durability and amazing lightness. It is extremely easy for two people to move, lift or slide into place. Most importantly, the spa design enables it to fit through a standard sized internal door!
Hydrotherapy System
The Illusion has a high flow manifold distribution system that delivers water individually to each jet with equal force, rather than a single pipe linked from jet to jet. This means that you can be assured of a hydrotherapy experience similar to spas costing thousands of pounds more. This is combined with the latest design of fully adjustable, venturi air injected, rotating massage jets that have been strategically positioned to give a varied range of massage effects.
The luxury 8 jet package on the Illusion includes the following fully interchangeable jets:
- 3 x 3” rotating massage jets
- 5 x 3” directional eyeball jets
Pump and Heating System
The Illusion is fitted with a powerful and innovative 1.5 hp 'Xcelsior' pump to deliver effective massaging effect through the spa's 16 jets. The Xcelsior is a water pump that combines a heater and heat recovery system and is manufactured by Davy pumps of Australia. These pumps feature both a 1kw heater and a stainless steel jacket wrapped around the pump through which the water flows thereby absorbing the 'waste heat' generated by the pump. This very efficient, low-cost system is patent protected and is a first in the spa market bringing very real cost savings to owning and running a spa. In summary, this type of pump is equivalent to using a dedicated 2.4 kw heater for up to half the running costs!
Shell Colours and Panelling
The Illusion Spa is supplied with inset, light cedar colour synthetic wood panels and in a blue shell colour.

Ideal ,if you want a small spa. As this is a new model and there are no reviews anywhere that I could find ,I was a little apprehensive. Pros. Everything worked first time and is still working now. The fitted blue light is lovely at night. It's not too noisy at all on the first setting and not too bad on the second. The cover with this model is nice and seems to hold the heat in well. Arron, at Splash Spa's is very helpful,had to contact him twice as I have never owned a spa before and was not sure about a few things. Very sturdy constuction ,was worried incase it was not the usual standard. Cons. Much heavier than stated .Two men can move it easily enough but not carry it!! Very heavy if you have to move it any distance. Not over keen on the colour,would have preferred a lighter blue.
The finish of the shell is a little bitty. The instruction book was not very good, hence having to give Arron a call. . SUMMARY. Would I buy this model again ,and from Splash Spa's ?? Hell Yes. !!! I cant wait for next summer. Bought it late in the season ,so didn't really have a full summer with it. I have a lot of back problems and when my muscules are agony I get in there for a while. Lovely!!
